Ash Pearson got his first kit at age 12. Constantly making noise in his parents’ basement for years, he taught himself to play drums by jamming along with CD’s and the occasional guitar player. At 16 he joined his first metal band Angel Grinder, which eventually became Sound of the Swarm. Between both bands Pearson recorded three albums.
At age 21, he filled the drum seat in Just Cause, previously filled by legendary drummer and long time friend Gene Hoglan (Zimmers Hole, Strapping Young Lad, Dethklok). In May of 2007, Pearson jammed with the renowned, genre-defying band The Dillinger Escape Plan following the departure of long time drummer and one of Ash’s major influences, Chris Pennie.
In December of 2007, Pearson was called upon by 3 Inches of Blood to fill in as drummer for what was to initially be one tour. Since then he has joined 3 Inches of Blood as a full time member, enjoying many great tours with many great bands. Some performance highlights include Wacken 2008, drumming onstage with Exodus and 7 stadium shows with Slipknot, to name a few.
Currently 3 Inches of Blood are in the finishing stages of the bands 4th full-length release, produced by legendary noise monger Jack Endino (High on Fire). Their latest album titled “Here Waits Thy Doom” is anticipated for release in September 2009 via Century Media.
