Biography
Gary Seligson is a free-lance drummer in NYC having been featured in Modern Drummer and DRUM magazine four times having twenty years experience working as a drummer/percussionist for Broadway shows.
Currently playing for 10 time Tony award winning Elton John musical “BILLY ELLIOT”, he’s also appeared with Cirque Du Soleil’s “WINTUK” as well as being chosen by Phil Collins to be the drummer for Disney’s “TARZAN” (composed by Phil Collins) also featured on the cast album. Gary was the original drummer for the show “”WICKED” (Grammy Award) as well as Elton John’s AIDA (Tony and Grammy Award’s).
He has also played in “MAMMA MIA”, “LEGALLY BLOND”, “SPRING AWAKENING”, “LITTLE MERMAID”, “SPAMALOT”, “GREASE”, “THE LION KING”, “RENT”, “CHICAGO”, “MISS SAIGON”, “LES MISERABLES”, “DREAMGIRLS” & “THE GERSHWIN’S’ FASCINATING RHYTHM”.
He’s performed and/or recorded with Elton John, Phil Collins, Leann Rimes, Phoebe Snow, Brian Johnson (from ACDC), Ben Vereen, Heather Headley, Toni Braxton, Joel Grey, Taylor Dane, Billy Porter, Adam Pascal, Idina Menzel, and The Chicago Symphony Orchestra.
Gary graduated from Hartt School of Music at the University of Hartford studying with Alexander Lepak.
