UNCP 'SUMMER DRUM DAZE'

On Saturday July 25th the University of North Carolina at Pembroke held its third annual "Summer Drum Daze" marching percussion camp. Long-time SABIAN endorser, Tracy Wiggins served as host and clinician for the event that brought together students from 8 high schools in the Southeastern region of North Carolina. The camp began with a clinic on basic technique and an approach to warming up featuring the 2009 UNCP "Spirit of the Carolinas Drumline." The event ended with a performance of the mass drum line playing the camp exercise packet , along with a short cadence, a Mexican marimba ensemble piece by the front ensemble students and finally a performance of the full ensemble of "The William Tell Overture."
