Biography

Christoph Schneider's band Rammstein is not one to be messed with! The German concept rockers blew onto the international scene in the '90s, and every few years they deliver a new album of hard hitting, heavy crunching, dark-humored hard rock. Christoph Schneider has propelled the band right from the start. Growing up in East Germany, Christoph had little opportunity to experience the music happening in the West. When he first heard punk, hard rock and heavy metal he knew he'd found his calling. Hammering out cover tunes in clubs led to playing in a succession of bands until Rammstein fell into place. "Pushing the limits is what Rammstein is all about... it's why our band exists," writes Christoph. While Rammstein breaks between albums and tours, Christoph continues to play with a variety bands to keep up his chops. "I'm a drummer when I'm playing drums. When I'm not playing drums I'm just some other guy. I want to be a drummer... to stay a drummer. So I play all I can."
