GROUP ARCH ENEMY / CARCASS
Daniel started playing drums back in 1989, at the age of 13. Initially inspired by his older brother Adrian regarding music, he was listening to a lot of thrash and death metal (like Metallica, Sepultura, Morbid Angel, Napalm Death, Entombed and so on), and hooked up with some friends in school with the mutual interest of forming a band in this style. That band later became known as Eucharist.
Eucharist recorded a demo in 1992 that got their name spread around the underground. In 1993 they were approached by a record label to record their first full length album ("A Velvet Creation") even though the band had been split up for 6 months!
Daniel joined Arch Enemy in 1996, just in time for the recording of "Black Earth". After a short hiatus from the band he rejoined them in 1998. In 2002 they were joined by the current singer, Angela Gossow and released "Wages of sin". It was around then they started touring heavily, and haven't stopped since!
"I tried out Sabian Cymbals for the first time around that time, and was immediatiely impressed by their incredible sound and quality. I've played various cymbals from their AA Metal X to the HHX series and they all work great in my setup.
Daniel is currently touring in support of Arch Enemy's latest release "The Root Of All Evil", which features songs from their 3 first albums, re-recorded with the current line-up.
