GROUP PURPLE MELON      

Biography

Jason grew up in Swindon, England and started playing percussion at a young age when travelling with his dad around Africa. He spent 2 months in Ethiopia and a further 4 months in Senegal in West Africa. At 16 he moved to London to study at Drumtech. Whilst studying for his music Degree Jason was playing gigs around town and performing music with world famous ballet and contemporary dance schools such as Ballet Rambert, London Contemporary dance school and the Laban Centre to name a few.

At 21 Jason was playing all over London and teaching drums when British rock band Purple Melon approached him. He auditioned and joined the next day! They spent a year recording with Paul Stacey (The Black Crowes, Oasis) at the legendary Rockfield studios in Wales and moved to LA as soon as they finished.

Since relocating to LA, Jason and Purple Melon have been featured on MTV's The Hills at the Viper Room and also were on Simon Fullers new show If I can Dream. Their Debute Album will be out in 2011.

Jason Continues to play all over Los Angeles with Purple Melon and various other artists. Expect big things in the very near future!
