SABIAN is proud to announce that Daniel Fyffe will be inducted into the WGI Hall of Fame: Class of 2010, in a ceremony to take place just prior to the Percussion World Championships in Dayton, Ohio in April.
The Hall of Fame is the highest honor presented to individuals who have influenced WGI history through their achievements and contributions. Each year, outstanding individuals who have made significant contributions to the activity are inducted.
Daniel’s commitment to excellence, combined with his dedication to his students helped him lead the Franklin Central Percussion Symphony to six WGI Scholastic Concert titles in seven years. Franklin Central would return to the floor attempting to exceed the standards they set the year prior, sweeping audiences to their feet before their shows had even finished.
As their director and arranger, Daniel helped change the way people think about WGI Concert Percussion. The Franklin Central Percussion Symphony went on to increase awareness of WGI Percussion through performances at PAS, the Midwest Band and Orchestra Conference, and the Indiana Music Educator’s State Convention.
Daniel was instrumental in developing the percussion activity on a local level as a founding member of the Indiana Percussion Association and has served as Secretary and President. He is a member of the Winter Guard International Percussion Advisory Board, the Percussive Arts Society, and the Indiana Music Educators Association. Through lectures, seminars, judging clinics and his educational articles (published in School Band, Orchestra Magazine and WGI Focus), Daniel has become a positive influence on WGI.
Daniel currently resides in Indianapolis, IN where he serves as the Director of Bands for Franklin Central High School. He has been a SABIAN endorser since 2005.
