SABIAN’s Director of Artist Relations Chris Stankee says, “Having Matt Chamberlain playing Sabian gives our offerings a special credibility. He wanted to be comfortable walking into any situation and have it covered with one brand of cymbals. He plays and records across all genres so it was a unique challenge to fill his bags. He has a set of Paragon for the heavy lifting. He chose from the Big & Ugly collection, Legacy and Artisan to cover the darker complex situations. And of course there are the unique sounds you can only get from Sabian like the Ozone crash, Radia Nano hats, Chopper, 16” HHX Click hats from the Custom Shop, Hoop Crasher, Max Stax and Fierce hats. Matt is exactly the kind of artist and person any company would be proud to have as an endorser and for certain we are proud and look forward to hearing all the great music he’s going to make with the cymbals.”
Chamberlain says, “I played Sabian early in my career and recall enjoying my 22” HH Duo Ride and hats in particular. I still have that ride. It’s been hard not to notice the sounds Sabian has been producing the last few years and I needed more versatility in my choices. While on tour with Soundgarden last year filling in for Matt (Cameron), I realized that I needed something like Sabian’s Paragons for that gig. I did some behind the scenes taste tests and found that Sabian had that covered along with everything else and so I’m happy to be home once again at Sabian.”
