Illinois Chapter of the Percussive Arts Society Day of Percussion
Host(s): Brandon Estes and Ben Wahlund at Naperville Central High School (Naperville, IL)
Cymbal used: 22” Sabian HHX Ride Cymbal
Naperville Central High School and the Illinois Percussive Arts Society were very pleased to host Jeff Prosperie for the 2013 Illinois Day of Percussion. Prosperie contributed in the day’s events with a clinic on the Legacy of the Snare Drum. In this clinic, Jeff gave a great deal of history through lecture and performance of the snare drum, percussion rudiments and the application of rudimental snare drumming to other percussive areas including jazz drumset, concert snare drum, even the xylophone!
In addition, Prosperie was a member of a fantastic panel discussion on the past, present and future of marching percussion ensembles. The panel included representative directors of local competitive marching percussion units from Romeoville High School, Victor J. Andrew High School, Green Thunder Percussion and Pioneer Indoor.
