A Highlight at the Frankfurt Musikmesse was a Security Nightmare
People were lining up an hour before the SABIAN Autograph Session even started. Soon they were down and around the aisles, blocking off access to other booths and preventing movement around ours. We were caught off guard, and the show security people were panicking and phoning furiously, wondering what to do. “Hey, this is crazy!” said Rammstein’s Christoph Schneider as posters were thrust before him to sign and people were suddenly beside him, getting their photos taken. But we quickly got things under control, and the guys – Christoph Schneider, Jojo Mayer, Seven Antonopoulos, Ralph Salmins (major sessions), Claus Hessler, Randy Black (Primal Fear), Dirk Brand, Dennis Poschwatta (Guano Apes), Dom Famularo, and Martin Stoeck (Pur) – signed their way through a big stack of posters at record speed!
Mylious Johnson (Jovanotti) was a surprise last-minute addition, but for those expecting to see Ray Yslas, George Kolias, and Tomas Haake with pen in hand, sorry, but they were unable to make the event.
