SABIAN was proud to support a benefit for legendary Little Feat drummer Richie Hayward who suffers from liver disease. Like many musicians, Richie has no health insurance, but plenty of friends. Hundreds of family, friends, musicians and fans turned up at the Canyon Club in Thousand Oaks, CA last Sunday night to show their support and give for the cause.
SABIAN artist and drummer for Robert Cray- Tony Braunagel performed along with a near dozen legendary acts that included Jackson Browne. The support for Richie was overwhelming. There was a silent auction that included autographed instruments from Tom Petty, Carmine Appice, Leland Sklar, Albert Lee and Chad Smith. SABIAN and DW were happy to donate a top of the line drum set with a full compliment of the best cymbals.
SABIAN artists who came out to show their support were Russ McKinnon, Wally Reyes Jr., Willie Ornelas and Glen Sobel. It was a star studded event for a wonderful human being and drummer that raised nearly $60,000. We hope it helps Richie get well.
