Continuing a successful series of North American events throughout 2016, the SABIAN Education Network held a live panel discussion at Berklee College of Music in Boston on October 25, 2016.
SEN’s live events are designed to foster ideas for improving and growing teaching practices, and an enthusiastic audience of pro drummers, educators and Berklee students listened as panelists Dom Famularo, Billy Kilson, James Murphy, John Ramsay and Jim Royle shared their extensive experience in drum education.
Berklee student Jihyong Hong won a SABIAN 18” AA Apollo cymbal in a random drawing, and all attendees went home with a SEN swag pack designed for educators.
“Each of our SEN panel events has been met with tremendous gratitude and excitement from the attendees” said event moderator and SEN director Joe Bergamini. “I am so inspired to represent SABIAN’s outreach to the drum education community, and I can see the positive impact it is having.”
SEN is open to all drum educators—from the private home studio teacher with a handful of students to a music school or educational institution—and provides a welcoming and inclusive forum for drum educators worldwide to exchange ideas and share skills.
