SABIAN Education Network director Joe Bergamini traveled to the Rocky Mountain region to present two events in July. On the evening of July 30, Joe visited top dealer Rupp’s Drums in Denver, where he presented a lecture for SEN members, drum teachers, and members of the Denver Drum Society with a theme of improving your business and career. This presentation applied to both players and teachers, detailing the different facets of business that must be attended to in order to achieve overall success. The session included lots of discussion with the attendees, and went late into the evening.
On Thursday, August 1, Joe presented a clinic at the Little Kids Rock Modern Band Summit at Colorado State University in Fort Collins. In this, his second appearance at the Summit, Joe presented a clinic on teaching drumset in the classroom environment. Over 30 band directors attended and enthusiastically participated with Joe on the four drumsets set up across the room. Attendees left armed with new ideas for curriculum and effective teaching to their beginning drumset students.
