Tom Teasley toured Bahrain and Saudi Arabia as an extension of his Fulbright-Hays grant awarded last year. While in Bahrain he performed a concert with Master Drummer of Bahrain performing traditional Bahraini rhythms fused with American jazz and funk. While there he also presented a clinics at the Bahrain Music Institute and the Royal Police band. He then traveled to Saudi Arabia for concerts in Dhahran, Riyadh, and Jeddah. In Dhahran he collaborated with master oud virtuoso, Hamed Alrashaid. He also performed with Charles Williams at the US embassy in Riyadh and several literary clubs. This tour marked the first the sanctioned musical performance by a western musician in several years.
