As someone who grew up listening to Neil, I purchased one of these Paragon sets after his passing. I've been playing with many of these cymbals (not enough room for all of them) on my kit for a couple years now. I really enjoy having these new "colors" and "." in my playing, to barrow Neil's words.
An unexpected positive for me was how closely the sonic characteristics of these cymbals matched what I heard in Neil's performances late in his career when he switched to Sabian Paragon compared to the "Brand Z" selections that were formerly the majority of my cymbals for 20+ years. Sure you can get a similar type and size of cymbal from a variety of manufactures, but I found it fun to play along with one of Mr Peart's tracks and not only be locked in time with Neil, but also be "in tune" with him as well.
While I don't road trip frequently, the travel case is very high quality construction and looks like it would hold up quite well on the road, protecting your purchase for years to come.
I would recommend this set to any drummer that enjoyed Neil's playing or to someone who just wants to make a wholesale change of sounds with their drum kit. If you do purchase a set, by all means, play them and enjoy them in memory of Neil. Don't just let them become a dusty collector's item.
