Born in Houston, TX, Elliot Jacobson started playing drums in 1996. Now based in New York, he endorses Vater drumsticks, Yamaha Drums, SABIAN Cymbals, Evans Drumheads and Gator Cases. Elliot began playing with friend Ingrid Michaelson in 2004 and continues to record and tour as her permanent drummer today. With Ingrid, Elliot has performed on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Late Night with Conan O’Brien, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Good Morning America, The Rachael Ray Show, Live with Regis and Kelly, The CBS Early Show and others.
In addition to Ingrid, Elliot is often called upon to work with a long list of talented artists. He is the go to guy for Jenny Owen Youngs, Dan Romer, Bess Rogers, Allie Moss, Lelia Broussard, Katie Costello, Jim Bianco, Rosi Golan, Wakey! Wakey! and Allison Weiss. He has had the honor of working with Regina Spektor, Diane Birch, Greg Laswell, Elizabeth and the Catapult, The Woes, April Smith, The Paper Raincoat, Mieka Pauley, Alex Wong, Cara Salimando, Anya Marina, Abigail Breslin, Guggenheim Grotto, Nick Howard, Rachel Platten, Lauren Zettler, Ricky Valente and Hayley Taylor.
Elliot also writes for his own health blog, The Healthy Musician, (thehealthymusician.tumblr.com) helping touring musicians eat right and stay in shape.
