Cara Froelich is currently teaching at Green Valley High School in Henderson, Nevada. Her responsibilities include running the Percussion and Jazz Programs, conducting the Concert Band, and team teaching the Marching Band and Pep Band. Prior to her tenure at Green Valley High School, Ms. Froelich taught for 7 years at Palo Verde High School in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Ms. Froelich has been a teacher in the Clark County School District since 2004 and during this time, her groups have earned consistent high honors at all festivals and performances and routinely travel nationally and internationally. She helped to start the state’s first Taiko Drum group at the high school level and has been running the state’s only high school Steel Pan Ensemble since 2006. Her percussion groups have been featured four times at the Nevada Day of Percussion. Ms. Froelich has served as the district’s Honor Band Chair and Percussion Specialist, the All-State Band Chairperson, and currently serves as the Percussion Chairperson for the Nevada Music Educators Association.
Ms. Froelich is a graduate of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) where she earned her degrees: Bachelor of Music Education (Cum Laude) and Masters of Music. Her professional affiliations include the Nevada Music Educators Association, Southern Nevada Bandmaster’s Association, Percussive Arts Society and the Jazz Educators Network. Professionally, Ms. Froelich performs with the Las Vegas Philharmonic and the Nevada Pops.
