Austin Moore was born in Louisville, Kentucky in 1979. His musical gift as a drummer was discovered at the age of three. As a young child, he began experimenting on lampshades and coffee cans. Four years later, he started playing at his local church, Moore Temple Church of God in Christ in Louisville. Under the leadership of the Late Bishop A.T. Moore, his musical gift gained increased visibility, leading to numerous local and regional opportunities.

In 2000, he relocated to Nashville, Tennessee to pursue and expand his musical horizons. His first major job in the music industry was with Dr. Bobby Jones and the Nashville Super Choir. Dr. Jones hired Austin as the house drummer for Black Entertainment Television’s (B.E.T), “Bobby Jones Gospel Show.” Being the longest running nationally syndicated television show on cable networks, the Bobby Jones Show gave emerging and well-known artists a global platform to showcase their gifts and talents through song. Austin had the pleasure of playing and recording with gospel greats such as Grammy award winning artists Rev. Milton Biggham and the Georgia Mass Choir, Donnie McClurkin, The Clark Sisters, and Shirley Caesar.

In 2005, Austin was hired as the main drummer for the legendary gospel artist and five-time Grammy award winners, The Blind Boys of Alabama. Working with this legendary band has taken him to every state in the U.S as well as to every continent around the world, sharing his gift with diverse people. Through performing with the Blind Boys, he has also worked with some of the music industry’s “greats” such as: Darryl Hall/Hall and Oats, The Oak Ridge Boys, Taj Mahal, The Late Tom Petty, Preservation Hall Jazz Band, The Late Allen Toussaint, The Late B.B King, Jim Lauderdale, Alan Parsons, Robert Plant, Aaron Neville, Pattie LaBelle, Mavis Staples, Jamie Johnson, Vince Gill, Stevie Wonder, Justin Vernon & Bon Iver, Seinabo Sey, and many more. Moore has also performed on T.V Shows such as: Jay Leno, Good Morning America, Stephen Colbert, Don Imus, and two of Canada’s top channels (Canada A.M) CTV/CBC Networks.

Through music, Austin continues to inspire people around the world.
