Oscar Alessio is an Argentine drummer, born in Córdoba in 1972. He began playing the drums at the age of 12, first with private teachers and later enrolled at the Provincial Conservatory of Laguna Larga, a city near his hometown. Quickly forming rock bands of the time (in 1985), he had his first professional recordings at the age of 12.
In 1989, he began studying at La Colmena, in Córdoba Capital, an institute focused on jazz and popular music. Shortly after, he signed his first contract with the multinational label EMI to record the debut album of his rock band La Usina, at the age of 20. During his time with La Usina, he moved to Buenos Aires, touring, performing shows, promotions, music videos, and other work with his band.
After 4 years, he returned to Córdoba to complete his studies at the Provincial Conservatory, this time in the capital city, earning a degree as a Superior Music Professor with a specialization in percussion. From there, he became a session musician and has played with some of the most important musicians and artists in Córdoba and Argentina, performing shows and tours throughout the country and parts of the world. (In folk music, with Horacio Banegas, Dúo Terral, Raly Barrionuevo, etc. He was part of the Provincial Orchestra of Ciudadana Music in Córdoba, playing tango, went on tours with Alberto Plaza, an international romantic artist, and also with local blues and rock bands), recording hundreds of albums of pop, melodic, folk, blues, and rock music.
Currently, he has been a stable musician for over 10 years with the band of Luciano Pereyra, a highly popular Argentine artist, touring Argentina, South America, Mexico, the United States, and Europe. He is a music teacher, directs the Municipal Band of his hometown, Pilar, and owns a recording studio called #Drumparkestudio where he records for artists from all over the world. His sound is solid and defined, characterized by his musicality and accompaniment, adapting to different styles of music with the appropriate feel for each.
