Dr. Chris Lizak is in his second year at OWU, serving as the Director of Marching/Athletic Bands and Instructor of Percussion. His teaching responsibilities include coordinating all aspects of the athletic band program, teaching applied percussion lessons, percussion methods, music appreciation, conducting, and assisting with the Symphonic Wind Ensemble. Chris is very active in the Central Ohio area, performing with the Columbus Symphony Orchestra, New Albany Symphony Orchestra, Central Ohio Symphony, and Opera Project Columbus. Prior to his appointment at OWU, Dr. Lizak taught at Trine University in Angola, Indiana, and worked with high school programs in the Austin, Texas area. Born and raised in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, he earned his Bachelor of Music from The Ohio State University, the Master of Music from Northwestern University, and the Doctor of Musical Arts from The University of Texas at Austin. He currently lives in Delaware with his wife Nikki and daughter Mackenzie.
