Born and raised in San Pedro, CA Hector “Lech” De Santiago began his musical journey with a piano at the age of 9. He is best known for his work with extreme metal group As Blood Runs Black. “I decided to marry and play music as my passion from watching my dad play his guitar and piano. I felt the music. It was like no other feeling I ever felt before. It was at that point, that moment, where I decided to become a musician.”

Following the footsteps of his brother, Hector picked up the art of drumming at the age of 15 by joining his high school drum line. It was there where he learned the basics and fundamentals and started to grow! “Once I got my hands moving I started banging everything! I remember I would sneak on my brothers drum set whenever he was gone and jam out for days.” After months of begging, Hector finally convinced his mother to buy him his own kit and never looked back.
